well... this's a question i thought i'd ask myself. what does it mean to be indian american. firstly its simply someone whose traced their origin to the country India, who currently resides in america. one of the latest in many waves of settlers in america. one of 2.7 million. 0.9 percent of the united states of america. one in a hundred.
there's not alot of history...
barred from citizenship in 1923... 1943 saw the allowance of indians to naturalization & the like.
in 1943 indians were returned the right to immigrate & naturalize.
