Response to Gawker article on Boston Muslims caught in reprisal violence after Marathon Bombing

http://gawker.com/this-is-what-its-like-to-be-a-muslim-in-boston-right-n-478104110

Crimes of reprisal committed against the weak and vulnerable of our society, by cowards. Lets not forget the threat being a Brown person in America carries of random violent crime. Of being wrongly and falsely implicated in crime because of skin tone, or spiritual beliefs. When Brown people cease to be scape-goats, we will sleep easy.

However, the other is always feared, and fear manifests itself with violence. Until we unify as a species, we're going to always fear one another.

Preface: My thoughts are with all victims of the Boston bombings, as well as victims of yet another media circus and subsequent misplaced patriotism cum violence. Are you really a patriot for punching an unarmed Brown woman holding a child?

Answer: No, you're a criminal. Fit for jail, unfit for society.

Reading about acts of violence committed against mothers holding less than year old children ironically (the article reads: She dropped her child when a man punched her and screamed something about Muslims), and perhaps counter-intuitively, makes me violently angry.

When will people learn that just because a terror crime has been committed, its NOT time for total war against anyone of your feared race of the minute?

Answer: Likely never. It's part of the human condition. Even if race becomes desensitized, there will always be new frontiers for human stupidity to flourish. When there are no more races to fear, there will be newly invented distinguishing characteristics to apply said irrationalities to. The solution? Stop clinging to niches and subcultures to the point of denying commonality between men.

To anyone claiming / believing racism doesn't exist... OR doesn't affect us in Central Ohio, as well as every city on the planet... You are living in a privilege-laden dream world. And your world views are wildly inaccurate. You deserve little responsibility, and you're worse than an uninformed child.
