and i just wanted to add in an addendum to the india / indian / nationalism deal, if the culture today teaches or passes something on to the next generation then isnt it in turn helping the new generation out and isnt it then also surving in a very important way if the most important parts of the indian culture inspire someone today then it wil live in the mind soul and speach of that person and perhaps it will continue to inpsire for many generations
"I feel the main reason why Indian parents do not like inter-racial marriages is because they feel their culture will be lost (which they hold dearly). It becomes all the more important to a first generation immigrant once he/she comes to a foreign land. They are probably in the same situation that first Italian, Polish, Irish immigrants were when they first came to US. It took them atleast about 40 years to open doors (roughly one generation). I am pretty sure 2nd generation Indians will not be like this."
alright so the subject on the table is that of iundian marriabge and that of indians marriying non indians ha this one great i love the comparison to irish and polish immigrants this gives me a great perspective in which to frame our current state hah our current shit state, look at the current enthusiasm in irish culture hah, maybe not all aspects have survived in completely integrated non traditional families but poeple have a way of seeking out their past in a very focused and poigniant way and then of course the fac thtat its very popular irish folk music and things like that these things are huigely popular plus hah ireland is world renowned as a sort of modern oasis with the green lands and hah the nationially well internationally scelebrated st patricks day the irish political dynsasty of the kennedy's the many celebrations the huge pop culture influence these osrts of things are here today and people still have irish names now people have changed their names for year sbut look at the african americans they had a resurgence of nationalism grew out the afros had the back to africa movement these people were proud of their prigin even renamed themselves to more tribal sounding names and such these things will happen in the indian community as well the music will endure people love music hah of all ypes and indian music is distinct enough to survive longer than indian culture however indian culture is in no danger of disappearing its like the whole south pride thing with the heritage of the south being represented by the old flag of the rebellious south that also has come to respresent what they were fighting for, slavery, and alot of people who are today tied in some way to those days are offended when they see these flags and things, now this is probbaly one of the things that i would consider to be a huge issue with the wholenotion of holding onto your roots because hah what are they really holding onto while yes i recognize the right to remember the past i lso think sometimes bad things happen and perhaps bad things can be forgotten, like in russia do you see them doing things that enshrine the history of the soviet union, that is, in the US, you wouldnt, we opposed them and we didnt like the communist system, and with them out the way we didnt want to prise the good of their government, and you see, these are the things that when caste system disappers from india hah ,then that may also be something that gets lost to history, i mean yea castes might be important, perhaps if the family did the same line of work for generations then maybe it had bearing, but in this fast paced modern world with an internet access anyone can become anything, with a bit of knowhow and effort as well hah, but if youre willing to weork, there's work out there willing to hire, so these older caste ssytem deals dont work in this post industrial era. but then the whole fear people are scared of everything but why let fears control you arent people measured by their courage and not their fear dont we always remember those people who despite the popularly held fear acted in a way that wa good and righteous and beneficial and helpful selfless and loving these are the things that we should remember.

this was a line i found in my notebook from a while ago thought it stuck out hah and figured id toss itinto a blog so ther's alot of indain peoplea round but you rarely see or hear of them they seem hiden hiding hindians bejind the scenes and rarely are they ever speaking much about anything theyre doing doctors and engineers all of em what do they do besides these things!? heh and indains in film really arent the sorts of things that yod see very often heh and when you do see em in fil youve got not very innovative roles those are the sorts of things that i am surprised to see we have to step up and represent the full spectrum of indian thought we have people of al lkinds of all shapes and sizes all of this witin the minds of indians as well as members of any race and creed but im not trying to be multicultural i think that already has enough venues and forums of its own i want to see something specifically for indains because i want to see the indians being brought closer together thats something that we dont see enough of what do they do but lumpo everyone together in these multicultural things and heh then you have the indian acting like american or englishman but its interesting i mean if theres a backlash against dark skinned boys and men shouldnt there be an answer i mean im the sort of person to say or do something about it and heh im surprised there arent many others like myself out there. you see many of these people want to go and make their money with their heads down to the ground its like come on stop being so scared and lets be representatives with the way we live lets show otehrs that you can be proud and successful as wellas be indian. heh i always knew that there was not a single difference between an indian and a anything else but there is a real indian community that does look inwardly for entertainment if not problem solving and i think if there was some form of problem solving then teh community would be able to help itself out thats more or less what we have here its not a race issue or a skin color issue its a community issue that helps out those within the comunity be they any race whatever i dont consider race race doesnt exist in my mind people do heh peope are what matter not the label that i never use like gay and straight and man and woman are all i use right now and i think those many should also leave me as well because i think sexual orientation ha sno relation to political interest or good and evil these sorts of things are just genetic coding or personal choice but its your choice and right to go with what you are comfortable with and its our job to respect these other people or else we are ass holes and we will get them acting like assholes back to us. its this trifecta of respecting comforts and not ebing assholes that brews friendship and love. alot of these things i dont really put to much interest in because when i am walking around i just look into peoples eyes and speak with them head on eye ball to eye ball and i connect with people that way almost all the time hah and this new listening method of saying your thought then listening to it you think about what sjust been said get a sense of your place then move forward with understanding of your plac eand you dont feel aimless you have a position in the stars its a wonderful feeling. everyone should feel it. i give this gift to anyone i come across. i believe in spreading the good word. speading joy and enlightenment.
